How HEPA Filtration Works

H.E.P.A. (High Efficiency Particulate Arrestance) filters are used in places like hospitals because they are considered the best filters on the market today. Originally developed by the Atomic Energy Commission during World War II to remove radioactive dust from manufacturing plant exhausts. According to the standard, a filter must collect 99.97% of a specific particulate that measures 0.30 microns, in a test established by the Institute of Environmental Sciences in order to receive the HEPA filter designation. However, the HEPA filter can capture particulate sizes ranging from >100 microns down to 0.01microns.

Captura PureFlo is capable of filtering out allergens such as pollen, dust mite dander, insect debris, tobacco smoke, mold, fungi, mildew, pet allergens and dust.

Polarized Media Filtration uses a negatively charged fiberglass filter system to attract particles suspended in air, while maintaining the same, or almost better air flow rate for your HVAC system.
