Is the Berkeys MVP Plan Worth It? An Honest Look at What's Included

You're asking whether our membership is worth it, and you've landed on our page about it. So let's be upfront about that. What follows is the contents, the exclusions, and the kinds of households it doesn't suit.

Is the Berkeys MVP plan worth it? That depends on two things: how many systems your home has, and how often you'd call someone out anyway. A maintenance plan earns its keep when you use it, and some homes won't use enough of it to matter.

We'll start with what's included, then what isn't, since the exclusions are where people get surprised. After that we'll cover the commitment, because it's a subscription that renews on its own. Then we'll split it plainly: who gets value from it, and who should skip it. Southlake homes vary a lot on this, and the difference usually comes down to how many systems you're maintaining.

Plumbing Inspection - Berkeys Southlake

Is the Berkeys MVP Plan Worth It?

It depends on how many systems your home has and how often you need service.

The MVP membership includes:

  • Annual plumbing, HVAC, and electrical inspections

  • First call scheduling

  • No service fees, Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm

  • 10% off repairs, up to $1,500

  • Extended warranties on repairs

It's a better fit if you have multiple HVAC systems, an older home, or you'd otherwise skip annual maintenance.

It's a weaker fit if you have one newer system, rarely call anyone out, and keep up with maintenance on your own.

It's a 12-month subscription that renews automatically, so read the terms before signing up.

Who's Telling You This

This page is written by the company that sells the plan. Pretending otherwise would be a bit silly, so we won't.

What we can do is lay it out straight. Here's what's in the membership, what isn't, and which households shouldn't bother with it. Everything below comes from the published MVP terms, and we've linked them so you can check our work.

What the MVP Membership Includes

The membership bundles three annual inspections together with a set of member benefits.

Three annual inspections

  • CLUB covers your plumbing

  • BAM covers your HVAC systems

  • AMP covers your electrical

Member benefits

  • First call scheduling, so members are booked ahead of non-members

  • No service fees, Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm

  • 10% off repairs, up to $1,500

  • Extended warranties on repairs

The discount applies across most of what we do. That covers drain, sewer and gas lines, electrical repairs, water quality systems, water heaters, backup generators, indoor air quality work, HVAC repairs, and new HVAC systems.

The inspections are the part that pays off quietly. A plumbing inspection catches the things that become emergencies later, like a water heater nearing the end or a supply line starting to weep. The plumbing inspection itself covers what that visit involves.

What It Doesn't Include

This is the part worth reading twice. Most disappointment with any service membership comes from here.

Not included

  • Repairs. The inspections find problems. Fixing them is a separate charge, with your member discount applied.

  • Freon. Refrigerant isn't covered by the HVAC inspections.

  • Service fees outside the window. The waiver runs Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm. Outside those hours, normal fees apply.

  • More than three HVAC systems. BAM inspections cover up to three per household. Additional systems cost extra each month.

  • Repairs beyond the discount cap. The 10% applies up to $1,500.

That fourth item matters in larger Southlake homes, where four or more systems aren't unusual.

The service fee window matters too. If your pipe bursts at 11pm on a Saturday, the membership doesn't make that call free.

One clear statement to close. This is a maintenance and discount membership. It isn't insurance, and it isn't a warranty on your equipment.

The Commitment

MVP is billed monthly on a 12-month subscription. At the end of those twelve months, it renews automatically for another twelve.

Auto-renewal is normal for subscriptions, and it isn't hidden. It's just the detail people skim past and then feel surprised by a year later.

Two things worth doing before you join anything that renews on its own. Note the renewal date somewhere you'll see it, and find out how to cancel before you need to. For a broader checklist, the FTC's advice on subscriptions that renew automatically is a useful read.

Everything described on this page comes from the full MVP terms. If something here and something there don't match, the terms are the authority, and we'd want to know.

Who It Fits, and Who It Doesn't

Here's the honest split.

Better fit

Weaker fit

Two or three HVAC systems in the house

One newer system, well maintained

An older home that needs attention more often

A newer home with no service history

You'd otherwise skip annual maintenance

You already schedule maintenance reliably

You want one company tracking all three systems

You rarely call anyone out

You have known work planned this year

Most of your calls happen on nights or weekends

That last row on the right is the one people miss. If your service calls tend to land outside the fee-waiver window, a big part of the value doesn't apply to you.

Here's the arithmetic underneath all of it. The membership replaces what you'd pay for three separate annual inspections. If you were going to book those anyway, you're ahead. If you weren't, you're buying something new, and the question is whether you'll use it.

For a general framework you can apply to any company's plan, how to judge any maintenance plan walks through it without the brand attached.

How Our Southlake Team Handles Members

Serving Southlake since 1975, we'll tell you if your home won't use enough of the plan to justify it. That conversation costs us a signup and saves you twelve months of paying for something you don't need.

Members get the same answer non-members get about whether a repair is necessary. The discount changes what a repair costs. It doesn't change whether we think you need one.

The inspection records add up over time. Having a documented history of your plumbing, HVAC, and electrical helps when a problem recurs, and it helps again if you ever sell the house.

We work across Sterling Creek, Timarron, and Carillon, along with Keller, Colleyville, and Roanoke. We answer calls 24/7.

If you're weighing it up, ask us what fits your home before you sign up for anything. You can also reach our Southlake team with questions first.
