Fort Worth Sister Cities International & Fort Worth Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Assistant Program Coordinator Internship
Fort Worth Sister Cities International (FWSCI) is a non-profit organization committed to cultivating successful relationships and international understanding among youth, adults, businesses and organizations of Fort Worth and its sister cities through educational, leadership and exchange programs.
Our sister cities are: Nagaoka, Japan; Budapest, Hungary; Reggio Emilia, Italy; Trier, Germany; Bandung, Indonesia; Toluca, Mexico; Mbabane, Swaziland; and Guiyang, China.
The Fort Worth Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (FWCVB) markets Fort Worth as a premier business and leisure destination, enriches Fort Worth’s hospitality industry and the community’s overall quality of life. This internship connects you directly to the travel and tourism industry and is based out of the Fort Worth Convention and Visitor’s Bureau in Sundance Square – right in the heart of downtown Fort Worth.
The tourism coordinator interns are responsible for assisting the Tourism Director and the Assistant to the President and CEO with designing marketing materials, organizing local activities for visiting delegations, and researching current and past trends in the tourism industry.
Internship Description Full semester internships are available for fall, spring and summer. It is important to note this is an unpaid internship. These offer hands-on experience of managing youth and adult international exchanges and local projects and are based in the FWSCI office downtown.
Our organization typically places 6-8 interns per semester. We have four key areas for the internship experience: international project management for youth and adult programs; marketing, communications and public relations; development and fundraising; and office practices and administrative support. International Leadership Academy – Specialized Internship for Summer Only This is a specialized internship available for selected summer interns.
ILA is a two-week international leadership development program which brings together more than 125 high school youth from Fort Worth and our 8 sister cities. The program emphasizes critical thinking and problem solving skills, and promotes international cultural understanding as students work together to solve global issues. Please indicate on the application if you are interested in this program specifically.
Facilitator training is part of this program. General Duties Assist the Fort Worth Sister Cities International department directors and program staff in all phases of international initiatives. Work closely in facilitating all areas of program development and communication with both local and international contacts for successful program implementation.
Assist in the coordination of special events, marketing and working with the business and private sectors. If applicable, facilitating global youth interaction, education and leadership development as part of our summer ILA program. Required Skills Demonstrated written and oral communication skills

- Internet research knowledge
- Knowledge of any of the following languages is valued but not necessary: Spanish Chinese Japanese Italian German Hungarian Indonesian Desirable Experience

Hours: Shifts can be scheduled around student’s classes. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Interns must work a minimum of 10 hours per week in 3hr. block period.
