Berkeys’ Plumbers are Experts in Clogged Drain and Sewer Cleaning, Drain and Sewer Repairs and Rooter Services in the Dallas / Ft. Worth, Texas Metro.

Kitchen and bathroom drains have a tendency to clog up after time. Soap scum, hair (especially if someone shaves in this sink), grease, etc. will leave residue that can collect on the inside of the pipes, especially the p-trap. The p-trap is the curved piece just under the drain. A Berkeys plumber can eliminate clogs by cleaning the p-trap. If a clog is more complex and causing back flow into the home, other work may be required.

Hydrostatic Testing for Low Water Pressure

Hydrostatic testing is used to isolate a leak when a home’s plumbing system is experiencing low water pressure. Testing pipes exposes issues that are preventing the system from operating at design pressures, including possible water leaks. Testing validates the integrity of the system. Hydrostatic testing can be used on piping and valves with welded or fitted sections.

Experienced plumbers are essential to receiving accurate results from hydrostatic tests. If the test ball is not positioned within the pipe correctly, inaccurate results are common. Our highly-trained and licensed plumbing professionals have conducted thousands of accurate hydrostatic tests over the years.

Sewer Line Blockages and Cleaning

When you experience problems with drains or toilets in your home, it is likely that a lateral line is blocked. This causes a back-up and sometimes leads to overflow inside and/or outside the home. The most common causes of line blockage are hardened grease, calcification, tree root intrusion, aging lines, or broken pipes (caused by ground movement).

Sewers back-up in homes over 750,000 times a year in North America, costing homeowners millions of dollars in damage to their homes and landscaping. In addition to the expense and inconvenience of sewer backup, it creates health risks in the home such as contamination from mold and harmful bacteria. Backups can also spew deadly waste into our streets and waterways.

Here’s how Berkeys plumbers can help you:

Identify the Blockage by Sewer Camera

Berkeys plumbers will run a camera through lateral lines (e.g., kitchen, laundry) and sewer main lines. From here, our plumber will be able to evaluate your needs and recommend the best solution for your specific problem.

Clean the Sewer Pipes

Once the problem and solution are identified, cleaning can begin. Berkeys plumbers will clean out all roots and descale any calcite, etc. in order to return the pipe back to its original functioning diameter. They will either jet the lines or use pneumatic tools.

RootX kills roots on contact; the dead roots decay over time and are carried out with the flow of the pipe, restoring the pipe to its full capacity. RootX also leaves a barrier on the pipe walls to prevent future root growth. Unlike other brands with harsh chemicals, RootX contains NO copper sulfate and is completely safe on septic systems, pipes, and lines. RootX root killer is non-caustic and 100% environmentally friendly.

BIO-ONE is a special combination of natural bacteria and enzymes that digests organic waste found in a home’s plumbing system: grease, hair, soap scum, food particles, paper, cotton, etc. BIO-ONE will not digest or have any effect on inorganic materials such as plastic pipe. It does not product heat, fumes or boiling like chemicals do. BIO-ONE is safe for people, plumbing, and the environment.

A sewer jet is the perfect tool for cleaning dirt, sludge, and debris from sewers ranging from 4″ through 72″ in diameter. The jet nozzle propels the jet hose up the sewer using high pressure water, while flushing everything back to the point of entry.
