Berkeys Cares About Our Community

We Support Our DFW Neighbors

At Berkeys, customer service, value and top quality service are our priorities for our business. But before any of that comes our community. Together our employees and our customers build the community we serve. Each of our team members support their part of the community in their own way – through their church, volunteering, or donations. As a company, Berkeys supports our community, too, through some of our community partnerships.

GRACE – A centralized, organized emergency assistance non-profit agency that provides food, clothing, financial assistance, and other vital necessities to people who are victims of a recent emergency or are struggling with limited resources or income. GRACE’s programs rely on donations of items from area residents and businesses (like food, toys, clothing, etc.) as well as monetary donations, volunteers, and services, like medical care, maintenance or repair services, etc. Grace is a large organization and there are numerous opportunities to assist them.

  • Grace Christmas Cottage Toy Drive – One of many seasonal GRACE programs. The Christmas Cottage provides Christmas gifts for families in need at no cost to them.  Other seasonal programs include Holiday Food Distribution for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, Feed Our Kids serves lunches to children in local apartment complexes throughout the summer, and Back to School Supply Drive provides new backpacks and school supplies.
  • GRACE Community Clinic  – Volunteer physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers operate the clinic each Tuesday night to provide routine office visits and health screenings, medications, specialist referrals, diagnostic testing and lab services, dietary consultations, and general health education.
  • The Food Pantry provides perishable and nonperishable food to individuals and families in need through a voucher system for GRACE clients to shop and select the food items that meet the cultural and dietary needs of their households. The Pantry is grocery store that also provides families with nutrition education and cooking classes.
  • The Transitional Housing Program allows individuals and families the stability and comfort of their own apartment while they work toward regaining their independence from assistance programs.

Assist The Officer FoundationDallas Police Department’s fund to assist and support the families of officers that have fallen in the like of duty or families that are facing income loss due to a serious injury, life-threatening illness or other life changing event. In addition to financial support, the fund also provides counseling and medical care. Corporate partnerships, private donations and fundraising events support the ATO Fund.

Paws in the City – One of the largest all-volunteer, no-kill organizations In the DFW area. Paws In The City is dedicated to ending the overpopulation, abuse, or neglect of Dallas/Ft. Worth area dogs and cats.  100% of all funds raised goes directly to the dogs and cats in need. They rely on donations from corporate sponsors, partnerships like those with Amazon and Kroger, and fundraisers, but they also rely on Wish List donation items, like blankets, bowls and leashes. Volunteer opportunities abound with regular adoption events, fundraisers, transportation, adoption home checks, fostering, and spay/neuter clinic duties, to name a few.

Berkeys is proud of our personal and professional role we play in our community and we will continue to support it with these organizations. We hope our customers will support each other, too.
