Starting Monday, November 3, 2014, Berkeys Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electrical, headquartered in Southlake, Texas, announced it has begun asking customers to help donate toys for the 2014 GRACE Christmas Cottage, a program that provides local area families in need with Christmas gifts for their family at no cost to them.
Toys can be donated during any scheduled visit by a Berkeys air conditioning, plumbing or electrical technician. Or, for any customers that want to pitch in without a scheduled visit, they can drop their toy donation off at Berkeys during normal business hours, Monday thru Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. Berkeys President, Jamie Wooldridge said, “Berkeys has been partnering with GRACE for the last several years. Last year, several of our employees had the opportunity to volunteer at the GRACE Christmas Cottage, where we were able to assist those in need of ‘shopping’ for age-appropriate presents for their family. After last year’s participation at GRACE Christmas Cottage, Berkeys employees felt moved by the experience and wondered how we could do more.”
Mr. Wooldridge continued, “So, with our fleet of 40 trucks on the road each and every day throughout the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, we thought that reaching our vast customer base through a toy drive was just a natural fit. We are excited to increase our partnership with GRACE and are thankful to have the opportunity to help others out in a more meaningful way. According to Shonda Schaefer, Executive Director at GRACE , “What makes our program unique is that we allow our clients to make their own selections of gifts for their family. They ‘shop’ in the cottage for age-appropriate toys, electronics and clothing items. This way, they choose the gifts that they know their children will like. It really helps the parents maintain a sense of dignity to give their children the presents they have selected.”
