Southlake, Tex., April 13, 2010 – The voting is over, the public has spoken. Readers of newspapers here and in neighboring towns once again have put Berkey’s Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc., at the top of the list of preferred service companies in Northeast Tarrant County.

In Alliance Newspapers’ annual “Best of the Best” poll, readers of The Southlake Journal, Grapevine Courier and Colleyville Courier named Berkey’s top Heating and Air Conditioning  company, while readers of Star Newspapers’ Southlake Times named Berkey’s top Plumber.

Each year readers weigh in on favorites for everything from automobile dealers to veterinarians, including pizzas, preachers, plumbers and dozens of other categories. For the winners, it is recognition of their hard work in the selective and highly competitive marketplace of Northeast Tarrant County.

“These results are quite humbling, coming from the public as they do,” Berkey’s president Bill Stevens said.

“As a company, it means a lot to get such strong support from the public we serve, but I am most happy for our employees because they are the ones who meet the public every day and do the great work that merits this recognition.”

Readers are limited to one vote per person per organizational category, which is enforced by systems that prevent duplicate votes being cast. 

This is the fourth consecutive year Berkey’s has won the “Best of the Best” Heating and Air Conditioning category. The company has numerous wins in the plumbing category, too, a reflection of its 35 years in operation here, and that some 75 percent of Berkey’s business comes from repeat customers.
