Water Heaters – Big Cost or Big Savings?

With regular mainte-nance your tank-type water heater will per-form well for years.

We get more calls about hot water heaters than nearly anything else. Like all things mechanical, water heaters will go bad over time and have to be repaired or replaced. One of the most common problems we find is something we check every year as part of our Universal Protection Plan – the pressure and temperature valve.

Mineral deposits can foul the pressure relief valves and keep them from working properly. A faulty valve can let pressure build dangerously high in the tank, possibly resulting in catastrophic failure.

Caught in time, this is a simple repair, one best done on a scheduled basis by a licensed plumber.

And, did you know your water heater should be flushed every year? We’ll be glad to take care of that, too.

Can I Ever Have Too Much Hot Water?

No, you cannot. Therein lies the other major problem with hot water heaters – getting hot water where you want it, when you want it and in sufficient quantity.

Frankly, sometimes you have to play the hand you were dealt by the home’s builder, unless you want us to do what the builder could have done in the first place – install a looped  system with circulation pumps that keep hot water available throughout your house all the time.

Tankless Water Heaters Solve Those Problems

But if the problem is the heater and not the way the system was laid out, we have good news – you won’t have to re-plumb your house to get all the hot water you want, when and where you want it.

If it’s time to replace your water heater (usually about 8 to 10 years), or if you want energy savings now, we recommend a tankless water heater.

Tankless units heat water on demand, so they only run when you use hot water. There’s no tank full of water to cool off, only to be re-heated later.

[The plumber was] very professional. Explained problems and applied himself to a fine solution to our needs. A valuable employee. Stephanie Landgraf, Southlake, Tex.

Tankless water heaters save you money!

The biggest demand for hot water is usually in the morning when the family’s getting ready for work and school. You drain the tank, it fills back up, the heater turns on and is running full blast as you walk out the door. You don’t need hot water then! Worse yet, the water cools and is re-heated in the tank several times each day, wasting energy and running up your utility bills.

Tankless water heaters put an end to that needless expense, saving you up to 50 percent of the cost of heating water!

That’s especially significant when you consider that the cost of heating water accounts for the biggest percentage of all residential utility bills – about 30 percent, on average. And you

[Your plumber] was extremely polite and very articulate in his explanation of the function of problem areas. You are fortunate to have such a good employee.

get an endless supply of hot water, even when you have a house full of company lined up for the showers.

What’s more, because of their small size (about the size of a briefcase), we may be able to i nstall them nearer to where you use the hot water the most, eliminating a long hot water plumbing run.
